Who we are
PiAcademix provides live one-to-one online tutoring.
This policy explains what happens to your data when you join a lesson at
www.meet.piacademix.com. Questions:

What we collect
To run a lesson we handle the display name you type, the room name, and
temporary connection data — your IP address and the
ICE candidates
and
session descriptions
needed to negotiate the connection. We do not ask students to create an
account. Server logs record IP addresses and request paths and are kept
for 30 days.
How your audio and video travel
Lessons are peer-to-peer: audio, video, chat and file transfers go
directly between participants and are encrypted in transit with
SRTP
and
DTLS. When a firewall blocks a direct path, the encrypted media is relayed
through our TURN server so the lesson still works. The relay forwards
packets; it cannot read them, and it does not record them.
Recordings
A lesson is recorded only when your tutor starts a recording. Everyone
in the room sees a recording indicator while it runs. Recordings are
uploaded to a private, encrypted Amazon S3 bucket that only PiAcademix
can access — they are never public — and are automatically deleted after
365 days. The tutor also keeps a local copy in their browser. If you do
not want to be recorded, tell your tutor before the lesson begins.
Students under 18
Lessons often involve minors. We do not knowingly collect more from a
student than the display name and connection data described above.
Recordings of a minor are made at the direction of the tutor, and a
parent or guardian may ask us to delete any recording at any time by
writing to
support@piacademix.com.
What we do not do
We do not sell or share your data, we do not use it for advertising, and
we do not run third-party analytics or tracking on this site. We do not
store chat messages or transferred files on our servers.
Third parties
The service runs on Amazon Web Services (Mumbai region). Some
open-source libraries load from public CDNs (jsDelivr, Cloudflare,
unpkg); those requests reach the CDN with your IP address, and each file
is verified against a fixed integrity hash before the browser runs it.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or
ask for it to be deleted, by emailing
support@piacademix.com. Your
browser also stores a few preferences (such as your display name and
theme) locally on your own device; clearing site data removes them.
